Cold hardy Even' Star mustard, best planted for fall. Lovely, unique, fern-leafed mustard. Very pungent raw, milder when cooked. Heavy leaves and petioles grow to 24" most falls and winters; plants can grow 36" if spaced wide and left to grow until April. Leaves will get damaged below 12° F, but plants are hardy to at least 6° F. Pkt (1g)

Additional info: Requires only minimal soil fertility. With temps down to 16° F will get green-bronze at the leaf margins (very saleable). At temps below 12°, many leaves will brown and die (not saleable), but plant regrows aggressively come spring. A real favorite with the chefs, and excellent cooked, but very pungent raw. Does fairly well in greenhouses, averaging 6 mesclun cuts per winter before bolting in heated space, but shines best in open fields.
