Ships in fall 2019 (Allium cepa var. aggregatum) These shallots have reddish-pink bulb scales and a pale, purple-pink flesh. The size of mature bulbs ranges from 1-2 in. in diameter. Note: This should not to be confused with the gray French shallot which produces a prolific amount of tough-skinned, undersized bulbs in the middle and southern U.S. latitudes. The French Red shallot is more widely adapted and has superior flavor, though it does not keep as well as other shallots. Valued in gourmet cooking and fine restaurants. (24 oz.) Comes with our Garlic and Onion Growing Guide.
