MCCORMACK'S BLUE GIANT CORN, DENT 57G SEED

Developed by Dr. Jeff McCormack from a cross between 'Hickory King' and an unnamed heirloom blue dent.] A variety especially suited to the eastern U.S. 'McCormack's Blue Giant' is especially suited for clay soils and drought prone areas. Because the 10 to 12' stalks are so tall it is not recommended for loose soils or high wind areas. Stalks produce one to two 7 to 8-1/2 in. long ears containing large, wide, smoky blue kernels. When ground for meal or flour it produces a light blue flour. It is especially suited for making blue tortillas and blue corn chips. Though it is a meal corn it is excellent when eaten fresh as a roasting ear corn (the old fashioned way of eating corn on the cob). Has good tolerance to leaf blights. Pkt.
